Attention Federal Employees
When contemplating which charity to give to, please remember the Humane Society of Harrison County is an accepted CFC campaign member now. Our charity number is 89719.
Federal Employees continue to make the Combined Federal Campaign the largest and most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world. We are honored to be a member of this campaign.
Do you need financial assistance in getting your dog or cat spayed or neutered? There are several assistance programs available. Visit our Community Programs page for more details.
Friends of the HSHC Drive
As the economy continues to lag, it has a devastating impact on the pets in our community. Our shelter continues to see a significant increase in animal surrenders. And our operating costs to care for and place these pets have gone up considerably. As an example, I would like to share with you a recent animal rescue story.
Halfway Home to You Expansion Project
The goal of the capital campaign is to raise $250,000 for the expansion of our existing facility so that we may rescue and place additional animals before they are euthanized at the Animal Control Facility. (Note: As of January 2012, we are in need of $50,000 to reach our goal.)
The new addition to our shelter will provide nine indoor/outdoor dog runs, a surgical suite and a state-of-the-art facility for cats.
